Police in Bukedea are currently investigating a case regarding the disturbing death of Amuge Lukia, a 65-year-old businesswoman.
Preliminary information reveals that the incident occurred on January 6, 2025, when a neighbor, Amoding Ann Lilian, noticed that Lukia had not emerged from her house as usual.
Concerned, Amoding knocked on the door and, upon receiving no response, opened it to find Lukia in a pool of blood with severe injuries, including a deep cut on her neck and cheek.
Amoding raised an alarm, prompting others from the trading center to gather, and the local LC1 chairperson reported the incident to Kachumbala police station.
Police in their statement, arrived at the scene, where they recovered a knife with a light blue handle, suspected to be the murder weapon, along with blood stains.
The victim’s body was taken to Bukedea HC IV mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Damalie Devine the East Kyoga RPC said that a canine unit was deployed to the scene, tracking a scent for approximately one kilometer before losing it.
“The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to identify and apprehend the unknown suspects” She said in an official statement.
