Over 800 student leaders from various universities and tertiary institutions in Uganda have begun a comprehensive patriotism training program, cautioning them against the dangers of drug abuse. Hellen Seku, Commissioner for the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC), emphasized the importance of prioritizing their well-being and prospects, advising them to focus on personal growth, self-discipline, and patriotism instead of consuming harmful substances
Seku shared her personal journey, highlighting her dedication and passion for patriotism, which led her to become a commissioner. The training program aims to empower participants with essential skills and knowledge to become informed, engaged, and patriotic leaders. It will focus on exchanging leadership skills, exploring patriotic values, and delivering diverse ideological perspectives.
Key Highlights of the Training Program:
– Discipline and Hard Work: Col. Justus Rukundo emphasized the importance of discipline and hard work in achieving success.
– Security Awareness: Steven Twinomugisha, Entebbe Municipality District Police Commander, cautioned students to be aware of potential security threats and maintain law and order during the training.
-Personal Growth: Participants will have opportunities to network with peers and like-minded individuals, gaining a deeper understanding of patriotism and national values.
The training program is scheduled to close on January 17th, 2025, with His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Patron of National Patriotism Clubs, presiding over the ceremony ¹.
