Police in Serere Cps have initiated investigation in to the matter of suspected Arson which occurred On 7th July 2024 at around 1100 pm,
The incident took place in Shann gardens, Upper shops, Kakus Cell, Serere Town Council in Serere District.
It’s alleged that one who has been identified as Oluka Emmanuel a UPDF officer attached to Kabong District went to Shann gardens to book a room to spend a night with his Girlfriend who has not been identified yet.
It is said that during the night, workers heard something like an explosion and they immediately moved out only to be welcomed by huge smoke coming from Oluka’s room. Shortly, they also saw the same person running out of the room and dressed in an underwear.
This prompted them to rush and managed to put off the fire locally with the view of rescuing Oluka’s girlfriend.
Preliminary findings indicate that one oluka could have forgotten to throw cigarettes filter which had fire on his bag hence fire out brake.
According to Asp Obukulem Edison, the East Kyoga spokesman, the matter of suspected Arson against one Oluka Emmanuel was reported at CPS Serere by one Egau Charles aka Tony a aged 27 years, a manager at Shann gardens,
A GEF 011/2024 was opened. Scene visited and documented by SOCO Remains of the burnt items majorly his UPDF uniforms recovered.
