Kyenjojo LC5 Chairman, Hon. Gilbert Rubeihayo, is currently embroiled in controversy after allegations emerged of his involvement in the fraudulent recruitment of unqualified individuals into the civil service. According to a letter from the Inspectorate of Government (IG) addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer of Kyenjojo, 45 unqualified Parish Chiefs, allegedly recruited through this process, are to be removed from the payroll and subjected to disciplinary action.
The Inspectorate has further directed the District Police Commander to ensure that these unqualified Parish Chiefs are prosecuted for using false documents to secure their positions. Preliminary investigations suggest that Hon. Rubeihayo, in collaboration with several influential councilors, manipulated the recruitment process by submitting a predetermined list of candidates to the District Service Commission.
In a recent interview with a local television station, Chairman Rubeihayo admitted that he and some council members had indeed compiled a list of candidates and pressured the District Service Commission to consider them for various job positions. This admission has intensified scrutiny as the investigation continues.
