Kotido, Uganda – A Fuso car registration number UBP 487C carrying a large quantity of beer has crashed in the Kotido roundabout this afternoon, sending crates of beer flying onto the road. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Eyewitnesses say the driver of the Fuso truck lost control of the vehicle while trying to dodge a Toyota Premio. The truck veered off the road and crashed, spilling its precious cargo all over the roundabout.
But in a bizarre twist, locals quickly descended upon the scene, helping themselves to the beer. “It was like a mini-party,” said one eyewitness. “People were laughing and cheering as they carried away crates of beer.”
The driver of the Fuso truck was shaken but unharmed. “I was trying to avoid the Premio, but I lost control,” he said. “I’m just glad no one was seriously hurt.”
By press time police had not yet arrived at the scene
A one longole, however said the focus is on the beer. “It’s a lucky day for beer lovers,” said longole, carrying a crate away from the scene. “We’re just happy to help clean up the mess!”
