Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku, the Member of Parliament for Oyam North, has donated 300 Kroiler chickens worth 3 million shillings to the Kampala Boys Association, a group of reformed gangs based in Oyam Town Council. The association focuses on improving livelihoods by engaging in various economic activities.
During the event held at Teduka Cell in Oyam Town Council, Dr. Apio, through her representative Harriet Among Odongo, the LC3 Councillor for Western Ward Central, emphasized that the donation was not politically motivated but aimed at reducing poverty among youths, women, elders, and clergy members across the constituency.
Tonny Olang Igubo Inyamo, the supplier of the Kroilers, encouraged the beneficiaries to embrace poultry farming, noting that it is a solid starting point for economic development. He advised them to feed the chickens properly to maximize their investment.
Moses Uhuru and Isaac Ojok, members of the Kampala Boys Association, expressed their gratitude for the support, pledging to use the chickens effectively to achieve their goals. They also called on other politicians to follow Dr. Apio’s example, so voters can benefit more directly from their leadership.
This initiative is part of Dr. Apio’s ongoing efforts to uplift vulnerable groups in the region.
