Earlier yesterday, 19th September 2024. Uganda’s Minister for Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, met with a delegation from the Gavi Alliance to discuss the enhancement of the country’s immunization programs and expand access to vaccines. The discussions focused on fortifying Uganda’s healthcare system to ensure equitable delivery of life-saving vaccines, especially for the nation’s most vulnerable populations.
Dr. Aceng expressed her profound gratitude for Gavi’s continued partnership and support, emphasizing the vital role the organization plays in combating preventable diseases. She lauded Gavi’s contributions toward strengthening Uganda’s healthcare infrastructure and improving immunization coverage, which remains a cornerstone of the country’s public health strategy.
“Uganda remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering essential vaccines to every corner of the country, ensuring that no one is left behind, particularly in underserved regions. Gavi’s collaboration has been instrumental in our fight against preventable diseases, and we look forward to deepening this partnership,” the Minister remarked.
The Gavi delegation echoed Uganda’s commitment to improving public health outcomes, noting the importance of sustainable partnerships in achieving lasting impact. The dialogue reaffirmed both parties’ dedication to working together to bolster immunization efforts, expand vaccine availability, and build a resilient healthcare system capable of addressing future health challenges.
