In a major stride toward improving infrastructure in Soroti City West, Calvin Echodu has commissioned the construction of two new roads one in Mugana Cell A and the other in Agule, Arapai Ward. Spearheaded by Calvin Echodu the aspirant for Soroti City West Member of Parliament seat, the project is a sign of Echodu’s commitment to enhancing the region’s infrastructure and economic development.
Echodu emphasized that improving the road network is a key part of his broader mission to uplift the community. “Infrastructure is the foundation of progress. We aim to provide essential lifelines that allow the people of Soroti to access markets, healthcare, and education. This initiative will empower the community, helping them thrive and improve their livelihoods,” Echodu stated.
Peter Ederu, the LC1 chairperson of Mugana Cell A, praised the initiative, noting how the lack of proper road infrastructure had long hindered access to critical services. “For too long, poor roads have limited our access to essential services. These new roads will bring a significant change to our daily lives,” Ederu remarked, expressing deep gratitude for the development in both Mugana A and Agule.
Vincent Opio, the councilor for Arapai Ward, highlighted the economic benefits of the new road in Agule. “Farmers in this area heavily depend on agriculture to sustain their families. These roads will allow them to reach markets more easily, opening up greater economic opportunities for our community,” Opio explained.
Local residents, particularly mothers, expressed their relief and appreciation, sharing how poor road conditions had previously made it difficult to access healthcare and other services, especially during emergencies.
James Chemutai, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Soroti City West, applauded Calvin’s efforts, emphasizing the role of such initiatives in supporting the government’s development agenda. “These roads are not just pieces of infrastructure they represent our collective progress. We must safeguard them for the benefit of future generations,” Chemutai urged the community.
Peter Edeku Edopu, a close ally of Calvin Echodu and MP aspirant for Dakabela County, delivered an inspiring speech, urging voters to elect leaders who prioritize the development of their communities. “Our future depends on the leaders we choose. It’s critical that we elect leaders like Calvin Echodu who put the people’s needs first, rather than those who are self-serving,” Edeku Edopu stated.
With leaders like Echodu and Edeku, who are genuinely committed to the well-being of the community, Soroti City West and Dakabela are set for a brighter and more prosperous future.
