The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, on Sunday, represented President Yoweri Museveni at the conclusion of the 3rd edition of the Busoga Prayer Week, held at Kiyunga playground in Luuka District. In a message conveyed by the Prime Minister, the President urged leaders and clergy in the Busoga region to prioritize moral uprightness and integrity, especially among the youth, as a cornerstone for building a progressive nation.
Stephen Kisa Bakubalwayo, chairperson of the organizing committee, noted that the annual prayer week, which concluded on October 20th, 2024, began on October 14th.
Initiated in 2022, the event seeks to foster unity among Busoga’s political, social, religious, and economic leaders.
Organized by the Busoga Consortium for Development (BCD) in partnership with political and religious leaders, the week-long event is dedicated to prayer, fasting, and seeking divine intervention to address the region’s challenges.
This year’s theme, “Deepening Regional Cohesion as a Foundation for Sustainable Household Transformation,” emphasized the importance of regional unity for sustainable development.
