Kaberamaido Town Council Crowned Champions in District Football Tournament”Kaberamaido Town Council emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Ochero Town Council, securing the top spot in a tournament organized by the Office of the Resident District Commissioner in Kaberamaido District. The winning team took home a trophy, two footballs, and a cash prize of 100,000 Ugandan shillings.
According to Assistant Resident District Commissioner, Rashid Adakun, the tournament was a resounding success, thanks to the support of well-wishers. He noted that this inaugural event would become an annual fixture for Kaberamaido and Ochero counties
Peter Arikos, Assistant Resident District Commissioner, expressed gratitude to the participating sub-counties, highlighting the tournament’s role in showcasing local talent, fostering community unity, and promoting government programs like Emyooga and PDM Funds.
The tournament was held in commemoration of Uganda’s Independence Day, with the final match taking place at Apele Primary School in Oriamo Sub-County. Kaberamaido District, located in Eastern Uganda, has a rich cultural heritage, with the Kumam people making up the majority of the population
