Mr Agustine Otuko, the Private Secretary to the President incharge of Political Affairs and a former MP Contestant for NGARIAM County in Katakwi has encouraged people of NGARIAM county, Katakwi and Teso region to take advantage of the rains for both Food Security and Income Generation. Otuko, who was speaking at the Burial of Mr Ajang Emmanuel a former Usuk SS teacher, emphasized the importance of hardwork to avoid turning the masses into beggars of politicians in trading Centers. Additionally Augustine Otuko encouraged the people of Katakwi to try their level best to educate their children to enable Katakwi and Teso compete at National level for the National cake. He noted that Katakwi right from colonial time had its flag high because of Education and that the first leaders of Teso region were of serious quality raising the Katakwi flag. He gave a testimony that it is education that has transformed him from a jigger striken young boy from Ocorimongin town board to a person working with the President of this Country.
