The Soroti City woman member of Parliament Joan Alobo Achom popularly known as Arrow girl, has announced her plans to establish the public children’s play ground for Soroti City.
Speaking to this site on Friday afternoon, Alobo said that the facility shall be centered at the healthy growth of the children considering the fact that their right to play should be defined in a safe place.
“Similarly due to the insecure nature of some of the spaces that our children go, i feel we need to work together to secure this open space for children in the central business district. This is because every child needs a safe place to play, explore and grow.” he said in a phone interview.
Adding,” I am raising this from the perspective as a mother, in most cases, we as mothers face tough times in raising and grooming healthy children.”
The public facility located in Akisim is estimated to cost more than Ushs 500, 0000,0000 (Five hundred Million), however the fund raising process is already ongoing through various platforms and social media, she confirmed.
Alobo is set to host an official fundraising ceremony scheduled to take Place 18th Nov 2023 at Pioneer Primary School play ground where Various guest from most parts of the world are expected to turn up .
Alobo the FDC diehard has been applauded by many of her electorates for her committed leadership in Soroti City.
Recently, she again commissioned piped water for the people of Arapai ward where she spent close to Shs 50 Million to install the project.
