SOROTI ; As the country enters into the new wave of dynamic politics, the turmoil of the recent strides in Soroti City East Division remain at the helm of the country’s political history, especially in the Teso region.
The concern from the members of the ruling party is why the FDC’s Moses Attan Okia has consistently remained relevant at the politics of Teso, this is putting brews at the hearts of his opponents.
However, the religious fraternity have continued propagating the demand for reconciliation amongst the heart broken groups of opposition with those in the ruling government.
Recently, Reverend Bessel Otekat of the Anglican Church Soroti Diocese publically made a call to the controversial politicians in Teso Sub – region to embrace reconciliation for the sake of peace and harmony.
In his call, the Reverend said that reconciliation and tolerance amongst politicians gives a leeway for unity and coexistence as any other responsible leader could portray.
Any other person could think that this can be highly impossible from the side of the F.D.C’s Moses Attan Okia and his political rival Herbert Edmund Ariko, the Soroti City East Division alongside his political descendants.
Attan who humbled himself after painfully losing the Soroti City East Bye- Election that was characterized by vote rigging and malt practices.
Having made attempts to seek justice in Court, the disappointed Attan could not get relieved as the large population backed him on sympathetic grounds.
Though he has never uttered any comment on the notion, his actions and public conduct portray humanity especially whenever he meets his opponents.
In 2022, just a few months after the controversial By – election, Moses Attan Visited his opponent Herbert Edmund Ariko having lost dear mother and condoled with him at his ancestral home in Awaliwal Gweri, an incident that shocked the entire public on his personality.
On Saturday 18th Nov 2023, Moses Okia Attan shook hands with his to opponents including the Youth Counselor for Soroti City John Junior Okwii Ekutelek and Shaban Ali during the fund raising event organized by the Soroti City Woman Member of Parliament Acom Alobo Joan at Pioneer Primary School.
Attan called them as his brothers and fund raised together, he challenged them to always be honest to the public and desist from being traitors.
