MP’s Driver Runs Berserk, Hunts Human Blood on Christmas Day
Residents of Toroma County in Katakwi district are still recovering from shocking events that unfolded during the festive season.
On Christmas day, 2023 a one Imalingat Joseph also known as Omande ran berserk and reportedly attempted to slaughter several innocent residents.
Omande as he is commonly known is a driver for Toroma MP Hon. Joseph Koluo.
The bizarre events in Acuna village, Angodingod sub county, started with Omande boozing himself silly at the nearby trading center of Abudi. Residents report that after getting drunk at the trading center he proceeded home where he picked up a big quarrel with his wife whom he fought with and then chased out of their marital home.
He then returned to the trading center and pounced on a random woman whom he viciously attacked and cut with a panga. This lady who has since been identified sustained deep cuts on her head. She was reportedly beaten severely and stabbed several times by Omande. This lady was only saved from certain death when youth responded to her alarm.
Omande is said to have taken off but only as far as his home where he went to retrieve the parked drone purchased by Hon. Koluo as an ambulance for the constituency.
Still thirsty for blood, Omande then attempted to run over a different group of women along the road. The women ran into for their dear lives . One of these ladies, Ajulong Betty who sprained her knee while she ran for her dear life says the driver looks to have been possessed by spirits .
Both Akello Florence and Ajulong Betty luckily survived the brutal attack and are receiving treatment at Katakwi General Hospital. They are recovering but still traumatized from the unprovoked rabid attack.
According to Aliado kevina, who is a sister to Akello, Omande was heard muttering that he wanted to consume two cups of human blood.
Aliado says her sister is still admitted at katakwi hospital, and Akello’s stomach is swollen with unclear medical results. She has to urinate through a tube and hasnt been able to open her eyes since the day of the unfortunate incident till now. According to Aliado, the doctors have recommended a special diet of protein rich foods like fish, chicken and porridge for Akello to help her recovery. However they are not able to afford these said Aliado. doctors are also conducting tests on Akello to determine the extent of her internal and external injuries.
It should be noted that the ambulance in question is private and different from the government issued ambulance that Hon Koluo had duped his constituents that he was responsible for lobbying for.
Before this incident Hon. Koluo has been associated in a number of other controversies. Most recently he was in the spot light in the news for writing a controversial letter to H.E the President seeking a bailout of over 1 billion shillings to pay off personal loans and complete construction of his personal house.
As at the time of breaking this story, Omande had fled and us still on the run. His known phone numbers are all off.
Olupot David Patrick the brother to Omande visited the patients once on 26th December, 2023 while Hon MP Koluo visited them on December 27th and bought medicine of Ugshs 51,000 and contributed cash Ugshs 40,000.
“That is what I can offer for medication of Akello,I can not offer anything else because my car has not caused any injury, look for the driver.” Koluo reportedly said as part of his sympathy message to the victims.
Omande’s family have also distanced themselves from the saga saying that he should take full responsibility for his actions.
The people of Toroma County are appealing for justice and asking for an in depth investigation into the matter.
When asked if they had reported the matter to police, Aliado said the Officer in charge of Toroma police post told them to first take Akello and other victims to the hospital and wait until they are recovered enough to speak at which point they can then record statements.
Toroma residents are living in fear and confusion after these bizarre events. This is the first time they have witnessed a blood thirsty vampire in broad daylight.
Attempts to reach Hon. Koluo to get his comments on the matter were futile
