The paramount Chief of Iteso Cultural Union His Highness Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng has urged the youth in the region to highly deep themselves into entrepreneurship to close the unemployment gap.
Emorimor addressed thousands of youth who had on Saturday gathered at Soroti Senior Secondary School for the Ateker Youth Entrepreneurs symposium.
In his inspiring speech, Emorimor told his business story that began with selling chicken and groundnuts however, it raised him to a big business that later made him wealthy in the earlier times of 1975.
Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng speaking to the crowd of Youth gathered at Soroti Senior Secondary school attending the Ateker Youth Entrepreneurs Symposium on Saturday 27th January 2024.
Speaking, “You young people can gainfully earn much money if you swallow pride and work for money, you can create a job for yourself and stabilize your income households by being innovative entrepreneurs.”
Adding, “Teso sub – region has multiples of opportunities that need to be exploited to sustain a living other than blaming government over unemployment.
“Let’s go out from today and work for money, lets open our eyes wider and change the economic shape of our land, lets wake up and make money”, he said.
According to Mr. George Okoit, the event organizer, the Ateker Youth Entrepreneurs Symposium is aimed at bringing the entire Youth of Teso and Karamoja to brainstorm the ideas on how to unlock the poverty levels and unemployment through amongst the youth through.
“We have today come to conclusion that innovativeness is a greater ideal to solve the unemployment gap amongst youth, we have also noted the power of mindset change amongst the youth”.
Adding, “Iam pretty much convinced that the humble story of Papa Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot has inspired many of the Youth especially those whose minds had been negative on entrepreneurship”.
