Kaukura Football Club that had travelled from Pallisa district overcame Usuk Fc the 2024 Alupo Cup winners 2-1 during a tight hard fought friendly match at their home Usuk Boys Playground Katakwi district on the sunny evening of Saturday, 17th February 2024.

The reigning Alupo cup 2024 champions1 conceded 2 goals, a move that shocked the home funs keeping them with crossed arms
Okello John scored the opener a well-connected header in the 22nd minute for Kaukura Fc after a great inter-play.
The second goal was a thunderous shot in the 78th minute from Omocho aka Pogba off a perfectly weighted cross from the left flank after Usuk fc captain Torres had left the back for striking.
Usuk fc Otoke Raphael and Oyuu Joel as substitutes looked dangerous on the break but were well kept under check by the Kaukura Fc ’ defenders of the vastly experienced side
Both teams made a couple of changes as the game progressed to test their different players and combos with Usuk Fc pilling pressure in the last 10 minutes till a bad tackle in the box earned them a penalty in the 90th minute.
It was well converted by Okure John earning the home side a consolation goal that put a fair smile on the large Usuk Fc home crowd that had turned up to cheer their home side.
The preparatory game is among a few encounters slated for Usuk Fc a team that seeks to register for competitive football.
The game was facilitated by the Vice president Jessica Alupo who contributed ugshs.800,000 for meals for both teams.she also provided transport refund of ugshs.600,000 for Kaukura fc and ugshs.500,000 for Usuk Fc.
After the match the guest of honour the Resident District Commisioner[RDC] Karenga District Filbert Ocailap who reperesented HE The Vice President Jessisca Alupo thanked both teams for displaying a thrilling and entertaining match.
He also used the opportunity to hand over equipment to boost up the club performance which include 2pairs of playing jersey, corner flag poles, goal post nets and ugshs.500000 as a contribution to Usuk football club.
‘’We shall support talent, we shall support usuk fc that is what the vice president has told me to tell you.’’ said Ocailap
Katakwi district youth councilor Steven Otukei who was the organizer appealed to the youth to vote for the vice president come 2026.

‘’You can see for your selves comes 2026 don’t waste you vote somewhere, you requested for such friendly games and a boost up and here you are.” Otukei appealed
Joseph Ongimu the Usuk fc headcoach who spoke after the match said they played a pressing game and tried to create chances.
‘’I am happy by the manner by which we approached the game. We could have done better if we converted the chances created in this match.”
Kaukura Fc coach Angura Silver Arteta was delighted by the challenge presented by the Usuk Fc team.
“They (Usuk Fc) were a good team physically. They pushed us further as the game progressed. This is a good challenge.” silver said
This build-up was of equal significance to the two sides who are preparing for competitive 2023-2024 football season
