Iteso Cultural Union has unveiled the tentative burial arrangements of the remains of their former Prime Minister Vance Omome.
Omome breathed his last in the night of Thursday February 29, 2024 from Doctors Plaza in Soroti City where he had been admitted for medication.
In an official statement by the ICU Prime Minister Andrew Ocole, late Omome’s body shall be laid to rest on Saturday 9, 2024 at his ancestral home in Apeduru, Apeduru Parish in Amuria district.
According to the programe, several burial preparatory meetings shall be held between Saturday March 2nd 2024 and Sunday.
On Thursday 7, March at 8:00 am, body leaves Bethesda Hospital to St. Immaculate conceptual parish for a requiem mass and proceed to Iteso Cultural Union for a council sitting for last honors at Mid –day, there after the body proceeds to Apeduru village in Amuria district for a night vigil.
The body shall therefore be laid to rest on Saturday March, 9 2024.The funeral activities shall be determined by the family and Amuria district leadership.
Omome was among the founding members of the Iteso Cultural Union in 1995 and served as Deputy Prime Minister under the past two regimes of Paprus Imodot Edimu (First Emorimor) and late Augastine Osuban Lemukol Adugala (second Emorimor).
In November 2023, Omome resigned from his position as ICU Prime Minister, citing leadership challenges and was succeeded by Andrew Ocole
