As Dokolo district prepares for a pivotal by-election, the NRM party’s administrative secretary, John Bosco Otoke, has announced a temporary halt to the registration process. This decision, aimed at ensuring fairness and efficiency, underscores the party’s commitment to a smooth electoral process.
Otoke emphasized the importance of NRM membership, highlighting its role in decision-making and representation. Despite the postponement, he assured members that the materials are ready, awaiting the announcement of a new date.
Meanwhile, in Kaberamaido District, initial turnout for registration has been low, with many members waiting until the last day. Some face challenges with name errors, prompting fresh registrations. In Obur village, Kabalkweru parish, efforts are underway to encourage registration, including door-to-door initiatives by volunteers like Walter Okech.
Across the country, registration is ongoing, with the process set to conclude on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Despite challenges, the NRM remains dedicated to its members, emphasizing unity and participation in the democratic process.
