The District Census Officer for Kalaki District, John Peter Ijoot, has halted the interviews for enumeration officials amid reported irregularities in the process.
Originally slated to commence on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, the interview process has been suspended indefinitely to address complaints from applicants regarding alleged malpractice.
Ijoot emphasizes the importance for all shortlisted candidates to stay vigilant for updates on the rescheduled interview dates, underscoring the district’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
Furthermore, he announces the extension of the display period for shortlisted candidates’ names until Friday, April 12th, 2024, urging individuals who believe they were erroneously included to come forward with evidence for administrative review.
To ensure accountability, Ijoot warns against any solicitation of funds from applicants for Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOs) positions, stressing that such actions should be reported to the nearest police station for investigation.
Julius Odeke, the District Communication Officer, echoes these sentiments, emphasizing the continuation of the display period at the district headquarters’ notice board until Friday. He cautions applicants against engaging with individuals allegedly demanding bribes and encourages district staff to assist applicants in checking their names on the notice board.
Odeke concludes by reaffirming the district’s commitment to conducting a fair and transparent census exercise, emphasizing that integrity is paramount in the face of change.
