In a swift response to the attempted robbery at Equity Bank Soroti on Tuesday Morning, two individuals have been apprehended by police to aid in the ongoing investigation.
Identified as security personnel from SGA Security, their names have not yet been disclosed to the press.
Residents of Soroti City woke up to scenes of tension and disruption as a massive security operation unfolded around Equity Bank earlier on Tuesday morning.
The operation was initiated following reports of a group of thieves managing to infiltrate the premises of Equity Bank, sending shockwaves through the usually tranquil city.
According to the acting East Kyoga Spokesman, ASP Obukulem Eddison, the two Security guards have been apprehended to for the ongoing investigations.
Although no damages and loses have reported yet, police have urged the public to cooperate with them and ease the investigation process.
“We shall still continue to keep our eyes close to restore security and order in Soroti City”, Obukulem said.
