In preparation for the upcoming National Population and Housing Census 2024 in Uganda, Calvin Echodu, the NRM flagbearer for Soroti City West, has issued a heartfelt plea to all residents of the ATEKER community. The census, scheduled to commence on May 9th, 2024, holds significant importance for the future development and planning of the region.
Echodu emphasized the pivotal role census figures play in shaping policy formulation, guiding planning initiatives, and monitoring development progress aligned with national objectives. With the reference night set for May 9th, 2024, the census will span ten days, concluding on May 19th, 2024.
“My fellow people of Soroti City West, as we are all aware, our country Uganda is set to conduct the National Population and Housing Census 2024,” stated Echodu. “It is imperative that each individual within our community participates and ensures their presence at home during the census period.”
The accuracy of census data directly influences resource allocation, infrastructure development, and social service provision. By actively participating in the census, residents can contribute to the accurate representation of their community, ensuring that their needs and concerns are duly acknowledged and addressed by policymakers.
