The Ezama Ham Mizamil Thanksgiving Ceremony, held to express gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his achievements, appointments, and services in the West Nile region since the NRM assumed power on January 26, 1986, was successfully held on June 8, 2024, at Arua Primary School grounds in Arua City.
The event drew over 10,000 attendees from across the West Nile region, including political pressure groups, SACCOs, farmers’ groups, business associations, RDCs, UPDF and Police Commanders, politicians, local residents, and members of the Nubian, Sudanese, and Congolese communities in West Nile.
Mr. Eranya Hamza, Chairman of the Central Organizing Committee, emphasized that the ceremony aimed to celebrate the gratitude and service delivery under the leadership of President Museveni. Alhaji Abu Jaffar, Khadi of the Arua District Muslim Supreme Council, prayed for divine guidance for Deputy RCC Mr. Ezama Ham Mizamil, protecting him from any temptations in his role.
Deputy RCC Mr. Ezama Ham Mizamil, the primary organizer of the Thanksgiving Ceremony, expressed his joy over the massive turnout. He described leadership as a divine gift that cannot be purchased with money. Hon. Osoru Mourine, Woman MP for Arua City, pledged her full support to Mr. Mizamil, urging him to remain loyal to President Museveni, who has entrusted him with significant responsibilities.
The Guest of Honor, Mr. Icogor Charles, Resident City Commissioner for Arua City, praised Mr. Mizamil and the Central Organizing Committee for their foresight in organizing such a historic event for the West Nile region.
The Ezama Ham Mizamil Thanksgiving Ceremony, the first of its kind in West Nile, was held to appreciate President Museveni for appointing Mr. Mizamil, for the overall appointments of individuals from West Nile to various government positions, and for the development initiatives in the region since the NRA/NRM took power in 1986.
