Gweri, June 16, 2024: Richard Elimu, runner-up in the previous Gweri County MP elections, conveyed heartfelt Eid wishes to the Muslim community in Teso, focusing on Gweri. Emphasizing Eid’s significance, Elimu highlighted the importance of reflection, gratitude, and unity. “Eid is a celebration that embodies the spirit of sharing and caring for one another,” he remarked, urging the community to uphold these values during the festivities and in daily life.
Elimu stressed Eid’s strongholds, stating, “This period reminds us of the strength in togetherness and the joy in sharing with those around us.” He encouraged everyone to partake in the celebrations with compassion and generosity. Demonstrating his commitment, Elimu made generous contributions and shared with the Muslim fraternity in Awaliwal, Gweri, and Aukot yesterday.
In light of the upcoming elections, Elimu made a political appeal, asking Gweri’s people to share their votes with the same spirit of generosity seen during Eid. Reflecting on his previous election experience, he expressed gratitude for the support received and requested a larger share of votes this time. “I humbly request that you grant me the bigger part, while the rest can be shared among the other candidates, just as I accepted the share I received previously,” he said, emphasizing his dedication to serving the community.
