The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Soroti Area Manager, Peter Ebwaat, has advised water users in Soroti Town, Amuria, Kalaki, and Kaberamaido to use water sparingly as their system is currently shut down due to a major pipe burst.
Ebwaat reported that a significant rupture occurred in the Transmission Line overnight, prompting the shutdown of the system this morning to prevent water loss and facilitate repairs. This incident has directly impacted water production and distribution during the night.
A team of engineers from Soroti and Mbale is on the ground, working diligently to restore the system to normal within 24 hours.
“We kindly request all customers to utilize water conservatively while we carry out these critical repairs over the next 24 hours and allow time for the concrete to solidify,” said Ebwaat.
The NWSC supplies water to 8,000 households connected to the Awoja plant. Residents are urged to cooperate and manage their water usage carefully until the repairs are completed.
