Asiimwe highlighted that improving livelihoods and ensuring better service delivery aligns with President Museveni’s directive for 2021-2026, focusing on socio-economic transformation. She attributed the district’s progress to the President’s leadership and strategic programs.
To achieve socio-economic transformation, Asiimwe stressed the importance of job creation through initiatives that generate employment opportunities for the local community. She also emphasized the need for programs that increase household incomes, thereby improving living standards. Additionally, Asiimwe encouraged leaders to support and empower vulnerable populations, such as women, youth, and people with disabilities.
Asiimwe also stressed the need to overcome challenges, including gaps in monitoring and accountability. She underscored the RDC Secretariat’s role in service delivery monitoring, evaluating government programs, and combating corruption. To ensure transparency and accountability, leaders were urged to promote transparency and openness in government projects and initiatives. Asiimwe also encouraged citizens to report misconduct and corruption through toll-free lines.
By prioritizing socio-economic transformation and promoting transparency and accountability, Abim District leaders can drive meaningful change and improve the lives of their constituents.
