FUFA: The Leadership of Teso Province have petitioned the football governing body in Uganda (FUFA) over the claims of unlawful use of a player by their counterparts of Acholi province in the Fufa Drum.
A petition seen by The Patriots communications fouls Acholi province for Using in the Mbale Heroes star Geoffrey Lubangakene in their recent group A second round game against Teso province played at Soroti Stadium commonly known as Oligoi that ended in a one all draw.

According to John Mike Erebu, the Teso Province head coach, the entry of the Central defender (Lubangakene) defies the Fufa dram Rule E of subsection 6 which states that, “Once a player represents a province, he will not represent any other province again unless in a special circumstances as may be decided by the Fufa Executive committee”.
The central defender was brought in as a substitute at the 86th minute during the weekend game against the host which automatically defies the Fufa drum Rules.

The petition affirms that the Defender Geoffrey Lubangakene aged 27 years, a born of Kaberamaido district of Teso province is a licensed player under Teso province and played for his team Teso in the 2019 second Fufa drum edition.
Besides playing against Kigezi in 2019 second edition, Rubangakene appeared in the game between Teso Province against Bugishu where he netted an own goal hence giving an advantage to the Bugishu side in the tense match that ended in 1:3 defeat.
Before crossing to Mbale Heroes FC, the Central defender Geoffrey Lubangakene became popular in the recent years when he became one of the most outstanding Fufa Big League players in Sorot Light Fc, and after they instantly suffered relegation in the year 2020.

One of the top Teso Province delegates Jojo Cornelius Eetu told this website that if FUFA upholds the petition, then Acholi side will either lose the one point they recently scooped from the Teso side, or face tough penalties that Fufa Drum committee may decide.
