Kotido, Uganda – Agape United was left disappointed after SC Messiah failed to appear for their scheduled North East Regional league fixture, forcing the match to be called off. While the home side and its supporters had hoped for an exciting contest, the absence of the opposing team meant Agape United was automatically awarded three points in accordance with league regulations.
Agape United’s CEO, Mike Rainbow, expressed his frustration over the missed opportunity. “We are saddened that SC Messiah didn’t turn up for the game. It’s very disappointing for us all, though we can take comfort in securing the three points,” Rainbow stated.
Fans who had gathered at the venue to cheer on their team also shared their disappointment, with many expressing frustration over the last-minute no-show. Some supporters had traveled long distances to witness the match, making the cancellation even more disheartening.
The exact reasons for SC Messiah’s absence remain unclear, but league officials are expected to investigate the matter. Possible explanations could range from logistical challenges to administrative oversights or unforeseen circumstances affecting the visiting team. SC Messiah’s failure to honor the fixture could have broader implications for their season, including potential disciplinary action from the league.
According to competition rules, teams that fail to show up for a scheduled match without valid justification risk fines, point deductions, or other penalties. Agape United remains focused on its objectives for the season, with the three awarded points providing a boost in their league standings. The coaching staff and players will now shift their attention to preparing for their next match, eager to prove themselves on the pitch. The club has assured its fans that it remains committed to delivering strong performances and thanked them for their continued support.
