Kotido – Agape United FC, a football team based in Kotido, is on the hunt for fresh talent to bolster its squad, and the team’s three-day trial session has attracted a total of 15 aspiring players. The trials, which are being held at the team’s training grounds at St Daniel Comboni Primary School, aim to identify skilled players who can help the team achieve its goals.
Coach Lomuria Clement has outlined the team’s requirements, stating that they are looking for a goalkeeper with some experience, two midfielders, two wingers, and a striker. “We need players with vision and a strong work ethic to help us achieve our goals,” he emphasized.
So far, two players have impressed the coaches enough to earn a spot on the team. Lokura Gimmy and Jamal, a midfielder, have been confirmed to join the team. Additionally, Obedgiu Alex aka Onana, a goalkeeper, has passed the oral test and is expected to join the team.
Coach Lomuria took the opportunity to advise the players to maintain a healthy lifestyle, warning them against the dangers of drinking and emphasizing the importance of punctuality for training sessions. He also expressed his gratitude to the players who attended the trials.
Team Manager Bernard Ochen expressed satisfaction with the turnout, considering the team’s specific requirements. “We are looking for players who can help us achieve our goals, and we are confident that we will find the right talent,” he said.
Agape United FC has set its sights on a better second season, following its participation in the North East Regionals and the Uganda Cup last season. The team will conclude its trials tomorrow, and interested players are encouraged to attend.
Okidi Rainbow Mike, one of the team managers, reiterated the team’s commitment to nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for players to develop their skills. With the trials underway, Agape United FC is poised to discover the next big stars in Ugandan football.
