Alebtong District– Alebtong District Chief Administrative officer, Robert Abentiatwe has been accused of regular absenteeism from duty.
David Kennedy Odongo, the Alebtong District Chairperson has raised concern on the matter noting that Abentiatwe has consistently been absconding from duty without explanation, which he claims has slowed down service delivery to the people.
According to Odongo, CAO Abentiatwe has since April 2023 spent limited time in office.
“Imagine CAO Abentiatwe has reported to his office for only 33 days since April 14th until now. He only worked for few days in May, seven days in June, 13 days in July and has not stepped in office for the whole of August,” he said.

Recently, the district council passed a resolution and consequently wrote to the Local Government Minister, Raphael Magyezi demanding for the removal of the CAO from the district.
Theophilus Obua, a councillor representing Abia sub -county, accused Abentiatwe of always interfereing with the investigation into his alleged misconduct, absenteeism of fellow district officials including senior procurement officer, Babra Ojok, District Engineer David Puce and also being corrupt.
With only one year to retirement, Abentiatwe who has worked in many district including Bushenyi, Mitooma, Kagadi, Kiryandongo, Hoima, Nakasongolaand, Ibanda ,among others said that councilors are bickering over money.
“Work hard, stop thinking that you can grab money in the local government,” he told council.
Abentiatwe described the councilors as poverty stricken who use blackmail to get a leeway to grab money from prospective contractors.
