Speaking to the press, Augustine Otuko has picked nomination forms to challenge incumbent MP and State Minister for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, in the upcoming NRM party primaries for Ngariam Constituency. Otuko vowed to dismantle what he described as “anti-people forces” perpetuating a culture of threats, violence, and division, which he alleges Ogwang has used to maintain his grip on power.
“Ogwang’s politics are rooted in fear, intimidation, and bribery, but his reign of terror ends now,” Otuko declared. “The people of Ngariam are tired of his dictatorial tendencies and it’s time for a new era of leadership that prioritizes the welfare and dignity of all.”
Otuko specifically referenced the violent clashes in Okore, where he alleged that Ogwang’s actions led to bloodshed among sons, daughters, and even parents. “Instead of wiping sweat, we were wiping blood. The team was forgiven, but this time around, it’s time to end anti-people politics and usher in inclusive politics that prioritize the people.”
Following the pick-up of nomination forms, Otuko unveiled his campaign poster to the press, signaling the start of his aggressive campaign. “Now that the ground is open, it’s time to play. The people of Ngariam will decide, and I’m ready to take on the challenge. Let’s see who emerges victorious on July 16th.”
