A campaign vehicle belonging to Akifeza Grace Ngabirano, a candidate in the Kisoro District Woman MP NRM by-election, was damaged in a shooting incident as a group of youths demanded unpaid allowances. The vehicle, registration number UAV 360Z, is currently parked at Mubano Hotel, visibly damaged from the gunfire. A Fuso Fighter truck, registration number UAY199Y, traveling along the Abim-Kotido road experienced a broken rear tire rim. The driver, whose identity remains unknown, parked the vehicle facing Kotido. In an attempt to repair the tire, Nabende Ibrahim, a 38-year-old conductor from Wajembe, Mbale District, positioned the jack under the truck. Alait Lotuka and Alepit Raphael were taken into custody on October 24, 2024, following a tip-off from a vigilant community member. The suspects were found with illicit goods, including warthog (wild pig) and ostrich meat, protected under Ugandan law.
