On Sunday, I joined the esteemed Bishop of Lira Diocese, Rt. Rev. Santus Linos Wanok, for a momentous four-day pastoral visit to Aber Catholic Parish. This spiritually uplifting event saw over 500 Christians receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
I was honored to be accompanied by my dedicated team, including Hon. Kenneth Ayuku, Deacon Richard Ebong, Jackie Ochan, and Alex Okech. Distinguished guests such as Dila Benson, the LCV of Oyam District, also graced the occasion.
The pastoral leadership of Aber Catholic Parish was prominently represented by Rev. Fr. Dr. Sam Okori, Rev. Fr. Moses Owani, Rev. Fr. Leo Ogwang, Rev. Fr. Stephen Ocen, and Rev. Sem. Ambrose Adupa, along with nearly 50 catechists who ensured the visit was both spiritually nourishing and meticulously organized.
Bishop Wanok delivered a powerful message, emphasizing the critical pillars of health, education, spirituality, and financial empowerment for the Christians of Aber. His words were a clarion call for holistic development, urging the community to embrace these values for a prosperous future.
Ogwang Obura, inspired by the Bishop’s message, expressed his dedication to these principles, vowing to support initiatives that promote health, education, and financial stability within the parish. This visit was not just a religious ceremony but a profound step towards communal growth and empowerment.
The visit concluded with a renewed sense of hope and commitment among the parishioners, marking a significant milestone in Aber Catholic Parish’s journey towards spiritual and societal advancement
