Mombasa: Soroti City Woman MP Joan Alobo reaffirms her reputation as East Africa’s fastest female legislator after clinching victory in just 15 seconds in the 100-meter race at the East African Parliamentary Games in Mombasa, Kenya.
Alobo showcased her unparalleled speed and athletic prowess during the highly anticipated race, outpacing competitors from other East African parliaments to secure gold. Her win not only brought pride to Uganda’s delegation but also her consistent dedication to excellence both on and off the track.
Speaking after her first victory, Alobo expressed gratitude to her supporters and emphasized the importance of such events in fostering unity among East African countries. “This win is for Uganda and for every woman out there proving that we can excel in all arenas. In another exciting performance, Hon. Ssekitoleko, MP for Bamunakika County in Luweero, claimed the 1500-meter title in the men’s parliamentary staff category, showcasing Uganda’s dominance in both short and long-distance events.
