President Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to address the nation on Thursday evening on issues of national importance.
According to a statement released by the State House Press Unit on Wednesday afternoon, the presidential address will focus on national security and other matters.
“The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) wishes to inform the General Public that the President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Gen. (Rtd). Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will at, 8pm tomorrow Thursday September 7, 2023, address the nation on security matters and other issues of national importance,” said the statement.
Adding: “The address will be aired live on all TV and radio stations.”
The address on security matters comes days after joint security services intercepted and detonated a bomb at Pastor Robert Kayanja church in Rubaga.
A number of places are facing similar targets according to statements from police and the public has been urged to maintain vigilance.
Museveni’s main rival in the last presidential election, Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, has also been holding mammoth political gatherings in his countrywide tour.
