August 12, 2024 — The Iteso Cultural Union has officially appointed Andrew Ocole as the new Prime Minister. The appointment, effective immediately, was announced by His Royal Highness Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng, the Emorimor Papa Iteso, following the resignation of the late Venasio Vance Omome.
Ocole’s elevation to this esteemed role marks a pivotal moment for the Iteso community. As Prime Minister, he steps into the shoes of a respected and influential leader, carrying forward the legacy of his predecessor. The decision underscores the Union’s commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural values and traditions of the Iteso people.
In his announcement, HRH Emolot also reminded the Iteso community of the upcoming anniversary celebrations of the Emorimor, set to take place on October 22, 2024, in Katakwi. He called on all clan leaders to mobilize their members to attend this significant event, which will be a testament to the unity and strength of the Iteso people under the new leadership.
