Kotido, Uganda – In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, Church Action For Relief and Logistic Development (CAFRAHD), a Christian organisation based in Kotido, has donated 18 metric tonnes of food stuff, comprising 12 metric tonnes of Posho and 6 metric tonnes of beans, to vulnerable households in the region.
The donation, which was made under the Egangata Emergency Relief Response Project, aims to support 600 households in Kotido, with the initial 150 beneficiaries hailing from Kogiligili and Lologoka parish in Kotido Sub County.
According to Ochen Paul Ernest, Programme Manager at CAFRAHD, the initiative is a response to the pressing issue of hunger in the region. “We are committed to supporting our community in times of need, and this donation is a testament to that commitment,” he said.
During the handover ceremony, Lc3 Mario Nameu expressed his gratitude to CAFRAHD for their generosity, while Rdc Charles Ichogor urged the locals to embrace agriculture as a means of sustainable livelihood. He also cautioned parents against selling food stuff and encouraged them to prepare their gardens for the coming season.
In a strong appeal to parents, Rdc Ichogor emphasized the importance of education, vowing to arrest parents who fail to comply. “Children are not supposed to be in kraals, they deserve to be in school,” he said.

CAFRAHD is a Christian and humanitarian NGO that has so far supported over 10000 vulnerable households that were reported to be in the verge of loss of their lives as a result of hunger and starvation since 2022.

to support more 600 households beginning with 300HHs and stretch till March 2025.
