The Soroti decorated Politician Calvin Echodu on Saturday moved the crowds of youth who gathered at Soroti Museum for the Teso cultural Youth convention.
The gathering convened by Iteso Cultural Union brought together over 1500 youth participants across the entire Teso Sub – region and some parts of Karamoja to brainstorm how best the youth can turn culture into a money pot.
Amongst the Key note speakers were Dr. John Ekure the C.E.O of Kumi Orthopedic, Dr. Joseph Opul the C.E.O of Quality Education Consultancy, Mr. Joseph Ariong, a vibrant business man, and Mr. Calvin Ecodu the Soroti City West hopeful amongst other invited guests.
Echodu who was present in the event moved every young person with very powerful information that pointed towards positivity in work amongst the job seeking youth.
His key point of argument was to build the mindset of positivity towards work with passion to inculcate more job creator that will help address the unemployment gap.
He told the youth to develop culture that will keep the identity of Teso nationwide and beyond.
“Having an identity is the power of market penetration especially now that Teso has equally joined the business economy,” he said.
Adding, “An example is that Teso was formally known for producing the best honey, Buganda up to date is known for coffee. Such Identity makes it easier to build on the brand of our culture.” he said.
He also pondered on a need for youth to exploit the opportunities available in Agriculture especially livestock farming, agronomy among others.
Meanwhile Dr. John Ekure and Dr. Joseph praised Echodu for inspiring the youth with his message.
Moses Otekat the Youth Minister of ICU encouraged youth to Unite and enlarge their connections in building wealth to change the status.
