Soroti City West, Uganda – Calvin Echodu, the NRM flag bearer and MP aspirant for Soroti City West, has once again demonstrated his commitment to supporting education in the region. In a gesture, Echodu provided a substantial donation of a Lunch meal to Schools in Soroti City West to ensure that Primary 7 candidates are well-fed and energized as they sit for their examinations.
Florence, a key stakeholder at Majengo Primary School, expressed gratitude for Echodu’s generosity, acknowledging receipt of 40 kilograms of rice and 20 kilograms of meat. “This is not just food; it’s a symbol of Echodu’s love for the younger generation and his commitment to their future,” she said. Atuko Betty, a coordinator from Oderai, echoed this sentiment as she witnessed the delivery, confirming that Echodu’s support was reaching the pupils who needed it most. “All the activities are ongoing and will never cease,” she affirmed, highlighting the ongoing dedication of Echodu’s team.
Angatu Steven, a teacher at the school, collected the donation and explained how the school team was already preparing for the meal by gathering firewood to cook the food. “We want the pupils to have a warm meal as soon as they finish their first paper and the rest of the remaining,” Angatu shared. He added a personal note of thanks to Mr. Odongo Andrew, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Calvin Echodu’s team, for ensuring the message of gratitude reached Echodu.
Odongo Andrew spoke on behalf of the team, addressing the media and explaining how Echodu’s outreach extended to all government-aided schools across Soroti City West’s 12 wards. “We received requests from several schools that were struggling with providing meals for the students,” Andrew noted. “Echodu’s commitment to the children of Soroti City West inspired us to make sure no child goes hungry during this critical time.”
Calvin Echodu’s work doesn’t stop at education. From churches to hospitals and road construction, his agenda aims to uplift the entire community. “We started the mission of ‘Calvin, Go to Parliament,’ and that mission hasn’t stopped,” Andrew stated passionately. As an onlooker mentioned, “Calvin has come this time in full swing,” a sentiment echoed by many Soroti City West residents who feel the impact of his work.
Nakatunya Primary School’s headteacher, Alimo Aida Etoyu, was overwhelmed with joy after receiving Echodu’s support. “This is an answered prayer,” she expressed, detailing how her school’s 286 candidates would benefit from the meal provision. She noted that attendance was 100% this year, with no pregnant pupils or young mothers sitting the exams.
For Echodu, the focus remains on addressing the needs of his community, from education to infrastructure. With Soroti City West rallying behind him, the momentum is strong as he prepares for the upcoming 2026 parliamentary race. The people of Soroti City West are witnessing Echodu’s “aggressive” dedication firsthand, and it’s clear they’re ready for a new chapter with Echodu’s vision at the forefront.
As the winds of change blow across Soroti, it’s evident that Calvin Echodu’s campaign resonates deeply with the community. His generosity, leadership, and action are not only feeding young minds today but also planting seeds of hope for a brighter future in Soroti City West.
