A massive fire has swept through the village of Lonangat in Nathinyonoit Parish, Lorengedwat Sub County, Nabilatuk District, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire, which occurred earlier today, has destroyed a total of 190 households, leaving 558 people, including 266 children and 7 people with disabilities, without shelter or basic necessities.
The affected families are now in dire need of urgent humanitarian assistance, including food, non-food items, and shelter. The displacement of these households has exposed them to various risks, including hunger, thirst, and disease.
The local authorities have appealed for immediate assistance to respond to the livelihood shocks caused by the fire. The affected communities are in urgent need of support to recover from this devastating disaster.
