Dokolo district, Uganda – Dr. Lalam Grace Annah Atine, a prominent aspirant, has stirred waves of support throughout Dokolo district as she conducted extensive consultative rallies, promising transformative initiatives if elected as the next woman Member of Parliament. Residents across various villages have pledged their overwhelming support for her candidacy in the forthcoming by-elections.
In a recent gathering at Angoromo village, Abalanga parish, Okwalongwen sub-county, Dokolo North county, Dr. Lalam articulated her vision for the district. She passionately addressed the pressing issue of youth empowerment, vowing to prioritize vocational skills training and short courses to uplift the younger generation. Criticizing derogatory terms used to describe the youth, she challenged detractors, asking what tangible contributions they’ve made besides disparaging remarks.
Dr. Lalam underscored her commitment to providing income-generating opportunities for Dokolo’s youth, including ventures like piggery and poultry farming. The consultative rally, held at Abalanga village, Okwalongwen sub-county, received commendation from Judith Mooyao, who praised Dr. Lalam’s unity-building efforts and affectionately dubbed her “Lalar,” signifying a savior.
The endorsement for Dr. Lalam extends beyond grassroots communities. Odongo Ocen, chairman of the NRM caucus in Dokolo district, urged voters to rally behind Dr. Lalam, emphasizing her dedication, eloquence, and financial stability. He highlighted her marriage to Alex Atine from Adok sub-county, further cementing her ties to the local community.
Dr. Lalam’s campaign has garnered support from a spectrum of political figures. Hon Daramoi Bob, representing Bata sub-county in the district council, hailed Dr. Lalam as the beacon for addressing Dokolo’s challenges, including poor infrastructure, water scarcity, and youth unemployment.
Owera Alex, a prominent politician in the Lango sub-region, highlighted Dr. Lalam’s alignment with President Museveni’s vision, citing her familiarity with the party ideology and her ability to effectively collaborate with the ruling party. He emphasized the importance of electing capable and cooperative NRM members who can work alongside President Museveni to drive progress.
NRM structures across all sub-counties in Dokolo district have expressed unwavering enthusiasm and support for Dr. Grace Lalam’s parliamentary bid, heralding her as a transformative figure poised to lead Dokolo towards prosperity.
As the by-election draws nearer, Dr. Lalam’s momentum continues to surge, fueled by her unwavering commitment to the people of Dokolo and her vision for a brighter future.
