Kaberamaido District. Dr. Engoru Charles has recognized and rewarded seven outstanding students of Kobulubulu Secondary School for their exceptional performance in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) exams. His initiative aims to inspire learners and uplift education standards in the school.
Three students were given 1 million shillings each as the merged best performing students in the last year’s Uganda Certificate of Education 2024. These monies were given by Dr. Engoru Charles, who loves education in Kaberamaido, Ochero County, Kobulubulu. Dr. Engoru Charles was the chairman of the Board at Kobulubulu Secondary School when it was opened in 2005-2014. Last year, the award was given to boys only, but this year the award was given to both boys and girls.
The following students were awarded as follows:
– Eletu Raphael – 3As
– Aneno Juliet – 1A
– Ajilo Easther Ruth – 1A
– Four students were awarded 500,000 thousand shillings each:
– Elelu Emmanuel – 1A
– Ekwau Elijah – 1A
– Elyetu Isaac – 1A
– Agalo Sandra – 1A
According to the headteacher, Ms. Sarah Ikala, she said that a total of 7 students from Kobulubulu Secondary School received their rewards. Ms. Sarah Ikala, in her message, said that there are stars in Kobulubulu Secondary School, and she said that the school now needs parents, and they are giving bursaries to students from senior one to senior four. She then said that it disappoints her so much to see that next year no students will not qualify for awards and bursaries, and she called upon parents from Kaberamaido to come and use these golden opportunities, which are only got in Kobulubulu, and said that Kobulubulu will have lawyers, teachers, and nurses, and that to God be glory forever. She asked for God’s blessing to Dr. Engoru Charles for what he has done to the school and the community through giving back to them the needy.
According to the chairperson of the Parents-Teachers Association, Ms. Jane Judith Ayudo, who represented Dr. Engoru Charles at the celebration of results 2024, in his message read by Jane Judith Ayudo, thanked the students for their performance this year, saying they have improved, and he then called upon more support from parents through paying school fees, and the school is pocket-freely as it faces problems under staffing, infrastructure, for the students, laboratory for science. He said that Kobulubulu Secondary School has not been concerned for any projects since its operational as a community school and has never benefited from the government of Uganda.
According to Monica Molly Ongom, who thanked the students for their effort, together with the parents, wherever they go, they should represent Kobulubulu Secondary School well in the places they go. Molly Ongom, who represented the DEO, thanked the parents for the hard work they have given to their children and both teachers for their effort in promoting education in Kaberamaido District as a whole. She then said that their role goes beyond the classroom and said that today’s success is a testimony to our children. She then thanked Dr. Engoru, saying he has done the best because his hard work, saying that through him, has personified the power of giving back, which is the best.
According to one of the beneficiaries, Ajilo Easther Ruth, thanked Dr. Engoru Charles for his support towards her education. She then said she will use the 1 million shillings for buying other scholastic materials like books, pens, and bedsheets, and she advised her fellow students who are sitting for exams this year to be prayerful and promised to use some of the money to buy soda for the teachers who stood by her .
