David Calvin Echodu the NRM National vice chairperson eastern Region has praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his continued leadership and successful completion of his campaign tour in the Teso Subregion, describing the moment as “a new dawn for Teso.”

Speaking during President Museveni’s final campaign rally at Emokori Grounds in Bukedea District, Echodu congratulated the President for concluding his regional tour on a high note and commended the strong mobilisation of the people of Teso in support of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
“This is a new dawn for Teso. The bond between the NRM, the people of Teso, and Uganda is unbreakable. This time, Teso is changing — and we shall vote massively for President Museveni,” Echodu declared, drawing loud applause from the crowd.

Echodu emphasized that the NRM’s message of stability, unity, and development has deeply resonated with the people of Teso, noting that the region was now more determined than ever to back President Museveni’s continued leadership.
He further thanked the President for his visionary guidance through the NRM manifesto and wished him success as he proceeds with his campaign trail in the Bugisu Subregion.
Kampala Region NRM Vice Chairperson Salim Uhuru, who accompanied the campaign team, echoed Echodu’s sentiments.
He noted that after several days of mobilisation in Teso, it was clear that NRM’s support in the area had surged significantly.
“NRM has massively gained in Teso. The opposition that makes noise in the media is nowhere on the ground,” Uhuru told journalists, adding that the ruling party would win overwhelmingly in the region.

Also speaking at the rally, Vice President Jessica Alupo commended President Museveni for steering Uganda toward middle-income status and sustaining economic stability through the NRM’s 10-Point Programme.
She highlighted that Ugandans can now freely engage in productive economic ventures and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting unity and development-focused politics.
“Under President Museveni, Uganda has seen peace and progress. The people of Teso must continue to stand firm with the NRM to secure the gains we have made,” Alupo said.
The rally at Emokori Grounds marked the culmination of President Museveni’s campaign tour in Teso before heading to Bugisu, with the region’s leaders pledging overwhelming support for his re-election.
