Brig. Gen. Oluka was honored with eleven gun salute at his burial ceremony in Ousia Village, Kalaki District, where he was laid to rest on February 8, 2025.
Hundreds of Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) officers gathered to pay their respects to the fallen commander, whose death has left a significant void in the UPDF fraternity.
In a heartfelt tribute delivered by Vice President Rtd. Maj. Jessica Rose Alupo, President Museveni highlighted Oluka’s important contributions and the profound sense of loss experienced within the military community.
“I was saddened upon receiving the news about the death of my brilliant Soldier, Oluka was very hard working, disciplined and plaid a key role in transforming the Internal Security Organization”, a letter read.
Chief of Defense Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba acknowledged Oluka’s discipline, hard work, and professionalism, which showcased his patriotic spirit.
In a letter read by the Deputy Commander Chief of Defense Forces’ Lt. Gen Sam Okiding, “As the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), fraternity, we shall miss him. UPDF and Uganda shall celebrate his achievements and remember him for the such legacy”.
This sentiment was echoed by many senior government officials and mourners, who expressed their sorrow over Oluka’s passing and recognized his remarkable service to the Ugandan government.
The loss of Brig. Gen. Oluka is also felt deeply in the Teso region, with Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot lamenting the impact of his death on the community.
Oluka’s legacy as a dedicated leader and supporter of national security remains a significant aspect of his memory.
