In a fiery address to a gathering of over 400 widows in Gweri County, the NRM flag bearer and chairperson , Elimu Richard, launched a scathing critique against politicians who continuously undermine government programs for their own gain. Pointing fingers at leaders in his constituency, Richard lambasted their rhetoric of opposing any good intentioned programs, labeling it as detrimental to the progress of the community.

“With every opportunity, these politicians chant the mantra that the government isn’t working, yet they are the ones feasting on its resources , driving nice cars ,educating their children in good schools exclaimed Richard. ” he asked them to teach the locals how they make money is a bad government rather than fighting whatever the government is putting forward for its people ” his voice resolute with determination. He urged the constituents to cast a discerning eye on the opulent lifestyles of these leaders’ families, just to exposed against their claims of government inefficiency

Richard’s impassioned plea resonated with the audience as he questioned the integrity of leaders who fail to champion the interests of their people and keep confusing them and asking them to eat PDM money “Why should our leaders not be pro-people when it comes to enhancing the welfare of our economies and households?” he demanded, his words echoing a sentiment shared by many in attendance.

Citing specific instances, Richard highlighted the hypocrisy of those who denounce government initiatives while actively encouraging constituents to partake in programs like Emyooga and the Parish Development Model money. These programs, aimed at uplifting the most vulnerable, and are dismissed by detractors as mere handouts, but Richard sees them as vital instruments for community development.

“Enough of the petty squabbles and empty promises,” exclaimed Richard, his voice booming with conviction. “It’s time for our leaders to step up and devise proactive programs that truly benefit our communities.” He encouraged the parish chief’s to continuously engage the “wanayinchi” and guide them on how to utilize these money for their benefit and reduce on the poverty at the house hold level.

As Richard’s words reverberated throughout the venue, the crowd erupted into applause, signaling their endorsement of his message and gaining belief that he is the right leader for Gweri county .
Some women were heard saying ” we made a mistake in 2021 , this man is pro people and seems to understand the common mans problems ”
In a political winds rife with discord and division, Richard’s call for unity and progress struck a chord with those seeking genuine change in Gweri County.
Change is coming to Gweri and Richard Elimu is championing that change .Gweri is County is a county to watch and Richard Elimu’s approach to leadership makes him the favorite for Gweri County come 2026
