Following the previous reported outbreak of Polio in Eastern Uganda, the paramount Chief of Teso, His Highness Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng has strongly called on his subordinates to flock with the government in the ongoing Polio vaccination exercise.
Emorimor who on Thursday appeared before the public in Kalaki district preached that Polio can absolutely be Kicked out of the Country when the public slcritically plays a positive role.
While Joining the government in the ongoing polio fight campaign, Emolot appealed to his people to keep no child left out during the exercise.
“Communicable diseases today remain a major threat to communities, I urge my good people of Teso to corporate with the government to have the children immunized”, he said.
Adding, ” I urge all the clan leaders, my Ministers and the population to be part of this polio vaccination campaign so that we can have a healthy community”.
Currently, government through the ministry of health and it’s partners aim at immunizing a target number of 130,000 (One hundred and thirty thousand) Children in Teso alone, said Dr. Alfred Anyona the Sorority City Health Officer.
” I am highly indebted to Papa Emorimor and Iteso Cultural Union for taking part in the campaign, the exercise is smoothly progressing and we hope that the target shall be achieved “, he said.
Polio is a dangerous disease that cripples Children and has no cure, currently the Ministry of Health in partnership with UNICEF and other sister organizations are vaccinating all children below the age of five years during this house to house immunization campaign.
