As Emorimor, the chief of the Iteso Cultural Union, amplifies Ateker mobilization among the regional grassroots, the Cultural Union has unveiled a new van aimed at easing access to his subordinates.
The Toyota van, with the registration number UBR 781X, was received on Wednesday morning by the Prime Minister, Mr. Andrew Ocole, at the ICU offices.
Ocole revealed that the institution is fully committed to delivering its visionary services to the Ateker-speaking people, and the arrival of this van is intended to enhance accessibility.
“This vehicle has cost the institution a sum close to UGX 80,000,000, including taxes and shipping from Japan,” he stated.
He added, “We are also set to receive a second vehicle, a Toyota Prado, which had been sent to Kampala for repairs.”
The two vehicles are expected to facilitate the institution’s activities, including the upcoming Ateker R-Union festival to be held in Soroti City.
The Prime Minister rallied the Ateker people to support the institution in its efforts toward resource mobilization for the construction of the multi-billion-shilling Iteso Palace construction
