The Forum for Democratic Change members allied to the Party President Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi and the Secretary General Nandala Mafabi have rejoiced after receiving the news that their tormentors lead by the party founder Dr. Kizza Besigye are seeking to join the National Unity Platform Forces.
Their comments came after Dr. Kizza Besigye, and his descendants inclusive of Elias Lukwago, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and Salaam Musumba began making a plot to form an alliance with Robert Kyagulanyi’s National Unity Platform (NUP) ahead of the 2026 elections.
The Najanakumbi faction believe that frustrated Besigye could be quitting the Forum for Democratic Change Party having failed to swallow pride and bow down before the power holding Amuriat and Mafaabi.
“We feel relieved after ranges of confusion inside the FDC party, Besigye even knew it very well that he was totally wrong to criticize the party leadership but he shamelessly did it by placing his baseless accusations of the so called evil Money.” one of the sources told this site

Besigye who believes that FDC has lost its stamina as a result of defections, infiltration by NRM moles, and failure to mobilise resources believes that his new role in the coalition with the National Unity Platform will surely weaken the National Resistance Movement and remove President Museveni from the long stayed power.
A source in Katonga told these site that Besigye had been speaking to Bobi Wine and international supporters to see how to unite FDC and NUP for a common cause in 2026, but this idea has faced resistance, especially among top FDC leaders from eastern Uganda.
While speaking in a phone call interview, Mafabi says his fallout with Besigye started during a party event at Namboole Stadium when the former presidential candidate asked him to attend a meeting at the home of ex-FDC top shot Joyce Ssebugwawo to discuss a partnership with NUP.
“The public should be on a know that Besigye’s coalition with NUP is in his personal decision, let them deal with him as an individual.” he said.
Adding, “Many of us rejoiced after receiving the news that he is now taking his confusion to NUP, that is even an opportunity for us to stabilize the party without his poisonous guidance.”
