The management of equity bank Soroti City has broken silence over the incident where unknown assailants broke into the bank’s building in an attempt to raid money and valuable property.
Francis Erumu, the manager of Equity Bank, confirmed that the thieves attempted to access the bank but were unsuccessful in their endeavors.
Mr. Eremu disclosed that so far no item has been tempered with by the goons.
In a brief statement with press, “We received information on time and notified police who quickly surrounded the bank premises during early morning hours at around 3:00 am. Fortunately no item has been touched as the assailants took off in fear of police.”
Adding, “We urge our clients to be calm as police do their job to uprehend the suspects.”
Both Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) and police forces were swiftly deployed, creating an atmosphere of intrigue and concern throughout the town.
The operation was initiated following reports of a group of thieves managing to infiltrate the premises of Equity Bank, sending shockwaves through the usually tranquil city.
