ARUA – Soroti City East Town Clerk, Abraham Omaido, has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary of Muni University, with immediate effect. This prestigious role marks a new chapter in Omaido’s extensive career in public administration.
Omaido, a seasoned civil servant, has held several senior government positions, most notably serving as Town Clerk for Soroti City East for the past eight years. His breadth of experience is complemented by a robust academic background, including a Master’s in Public Administration and Management from Uganda Christian University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI), and a Certificate in Administrative Law from the Law Development Centre (LDC).
His professional journey also includes a pivotal tenure in Ngora District, where he served as a Human Resource Officer, further establishing his expertise in public sector administration.
In his new capacity as Deputy Secretary of Muni University, Omaido will play a crucial role in supporting the University Secretary, overseeing the administrative framework of the institution, and ensuring the efficient management of the University Council and its various committees. His wealth of experience is expected to bring a high level of administrative acumen to the institution.
Muni University established by the Uganda Government under Statutory Instrument 2013 No. 31, in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2006 (as amended), is a public university located in Arua District. Its campus, situated 3 kilometers south of Arua City in north-western Uganda, serves as a hub for higher education in the region.
Omaido’s appointment signals a continued commitment to strengthening the administrative leadership of Uganda’s academic institutions, ensuring their strategic alignment with national development goals.
