The Uganda Police force has declined to provide security to the extraordinary delegates’ conference pronounced by the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party Chairman, Wasswa Birigwa set for September 19, 2023.
This was announced in an official letter issued on September 12, 2023, signed by John Nuwagira on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.
A few days earlier, the FDC Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi, issued a communication dismissing any intended arrangements of the purported meeting.

Nandala and other FDC leaders believe that this meeting is a move to escalate chaos amongst the party members and the business community.
Police have been careful on such observations and have therefore advised both parallel sides to reconcile and forge way forward.
